පුදබිමක මතක…

එය සංගමයේ තවත් එක් අංගයකි. පිච්ච මල් පූජාව හා සෑ මලුව සුද්ධ පවිත්‍ර කිරීමට අප ගිය ගමන… පුණ්‍යවන්තය. සත්තකින්ම අවසන දැනෙන හැඟීම ම, සිතුවිල්ලම පිනෙන් පිරී ඇත. එහෙත් මේ කියන්නට සැරසෙන්නේ අපගේ ඒ ගමනේ වගතුග නොව අප අත් දුටු ඒ අසංවේදී දසුනින් බිඳකි.

සත්තකින්ම අපට අවැසි වන්නේ කුණු අස් කිරීමට නොව, මේ මහ පොලොවට කුණු දමන්නට නැග එන ඒ කිලිටි සිතුවිලි අස් කිරීමටයි. මේ අප රිදවන්නට උත්සහ ගන්නේ, අප ඇස ගැටුණු ඒ කිලිටි සිතුවිලි වලටයි.

අප පිච්ච් මල් පූජාවෙන් පසු දින උදෑසන නවයට පමණ,සිරි මහ බෝ සෙවණට ඇතුල් වූයේ මල් තෙල් ගෙන සුදු හැඳගෙන නොවේ. කලු පැහැ අත් මේස් පැලැඳි අප අත තැඹිලි පැහැ මලුවකි. ඒ මලුව අස් කිරීමටය.පෙර දින ආ අධික සෙනඟ තරම් නොවුණ ද පූජාව උදෙසා පැමිණි සිල්වතුන්ගෙන් උඩ මලුවේ තදබදයකි.

පලමුව අප මලු පරවුණු මල් හා නෙලුම් දඬු වලින් පිරිණි. පූජාසනය අසල වූයේ පෙර දින පූජා කර පිළුණු වෙමින් පවතින කිරිපිඬුය. ඒ සියල්ලෙන්ම අප මලුව පිරෙද්දී අපට සහය වන්නට ඇතැම් සැදැහැවතුන් ද උත්සුක වූ අයුරු මතකය.

උඩ මලුව වටා වට තුන හතරකින් පසු, මලු කුණු වලින් පිරෙද්දී අප සිත් පිනෙන් පිරුණි. ඉන් පසු අප පහල වැලි මලුව වටා ඇවිද්දෙමු. අපට හමු වූයේ නෙලුම් දඬු පමණක් නොවේ. තැනින් තැන සිලි කවර වල එතූ පිළුණු කෑමය. තවත් තැනක ගිලන්පස ලූ ප්ලාස්ටීක් බෝතල්ය. මේවා ඇත්තේ ද වැලි මලුවේ පමණක්ම නොවේ. ගල් බැම්මේ අසු මුලු වල මේවා හංගා ඇති හැඩකි. එහෙත් සියලු හැංගිමුත්තම් සෙල්ලම් පසෙක ලා අප මලුවලට ලූ ඒවාට වඩා එය එතනට ලූ සිතුවිලි කිලිටි බැව් නොකියාම බැරිය.දින ගණන් කුණුවී දුගඳ හැමුවේ ඒ කිලිටි සිතුවිලිය.

නෙලුම් මල පූජා කෙරෙත්දී, අහක දමන දඬුව වැලි මලුව සිප නොගත්තා නම් හොඳ යැයි අපට සිතුණි. දරුවන් පිරිවරමින් මව්වරු පියවරු මෙසේ කරත් දී අප අනාගතයේ අඳුරුවලා මොනවට පෙනුණි. සත්තකින්ම මෙය මහත් අපහසු වැඩකැයි නොසිතේ. තම තමන් ගෙනා කුණු ගෙන ආ අයුරින් ගෙන නොයාමට තරම් රැස් කරගත් පින බර වැඩිදැයි සිතේ.

උතුම් බුද්ධ දේශනාවේ, ගසකින් කොලයක් කැඩීමටත් සංඝයා වහන්සෙලාට අකැප වන ලෙසට ශික්ෂා පද පනවා ඇති කොට, සම්බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගෙන් සතියක් පුර උතුම් පූජාව ලැබූ උතුම්ම රුක්ෂය වන ජය ශ්‍රී මහා බෝ මලුවේ, මේ සිදුවන දෑ බෞද්ධයිනට තරම් වේ යැයි නොසිතේ.

මෙලෙසටම උතුම් රන්මැලි සෑය වටාද අප දුටු කිලිටි වග විභාග කල යුතු වේ යැයි නොහඟිමි. ඒ සියලු තන්හී අප මලු පිරුණි.ඒ කුණු වලිනි. සිත් ද පිරුණි. ඒ පිනෙනි.

වසර පහක් පුරා අප සංගමය මෙහි ආ ගමනේ කුණුවල අඩුවක් වූයේ නොවේ. අද මෙන් හෙට ද අප ඔබ දමා ලූ කුණු අස් කරනු ඇත. සිරකරුවන් දමා පවතින රජයකින් අස් කරවනු ඇත. නමුදු, මලුව පුරා කුණු දැමීමට බඳුන් ඇති කලෙක, එසේ නොවුන ද මෙය මෙසේ විය යුතු යැයි අපි නොසිතමු.මෙම තත්වය කිසිඳු අයුරකින් සාධාරණය නොකරන්නෙමු.

එය බෞද්ධයින්ට නොව සමස්ථ මිනිසත්කමට ම නින්දාවක් පමණකැයි සිතේ. යළිත් අවධාරණය කිරීමට ඇත්තේ මෙම උත්සහය, හුදෙක් මිනිසුන්ට පහර ගැසීමට නොව, හෙට දිනයේ අදට වඩා තම වට පිටාව සහ සොබාදම් මාතාවට ආදරය කරන, ගරු කරන,මිනිසත්කමින් පිරි සොබාදහම් මාතාවගේම දරුවන් පිරිසක් බිහිවන ලොවක් තැනීමටයි.

The Cycle Tour-2016

The Cycle Tour organized by the University Explorers’ Club ended successfully on 10th January 2016.

Explorers stepped into the pedals and started the cycle tour on 9th saturday morning.The cycles traveled 70Km and reached the Kalugal-oya vidyalaya,Ududumbara in the evening. Valuable books,sports items and educational items such as 1:50 scale maps were donated to the school by University Explorers’ Club.

‪#‎UEC‬ cycling team spent the rest of day with the students of the school, singing and making unforgettable memories.They returned to the university on Sunday evening. The total traveling distance was 140Km. #UEC would like to thank all the parties who extended their support to make this event a success.

School Orientation Program-2008

Fortunately I was able to participate Orientation program held on last week at the University ground. This is the largest event which UEC members organize in a hike season. Lot of things to tell about orientation program.

This event is organized for School children who are willing to explore the nature and do adventure works. Actually this is a hiking competition for school children. This time about 70 school teams (about 800 children's) were attended to this event. And another thing...

School from a very rural area is selected and accompany there children's to the university, day before to the orientation program and many many entertainment items are organized for them to enjoy. In the program, they also make participate for the hiking competition and allow them to move with other students. All participants can be done events organized and add marks for their team. Finally a one team from boys and one from girls who got highest marks are selected and prizes are given to them.


The main goal is to encourage all students who are participate to the program to build up their willing to come to the university and show them that how university life is.
